Purification Through Violence (1996) - Dying Fetus



Released on August 6, 1996, Purification Through Violence is the debut studio album by American death metal band Dying Fetus. owing their earlier demo compilation, Infatuation with Malevolence, this album marked the band's first full-length release and showcased their emerging blend of brutal death metal and grindcore.

The lineup for this album featured John Gallagher on guitars and vocals, Jason Netherton on bass and vols, Brian Latta on gts, and Rob Belton on drums.

Purification Through Violence was initially released by Pulverizer Records. The band parted ways with the label shortly after the album's release. In January 2011, the album was reissued by Relapse Records, including bonus track such as a 1997 rehearsal ademo of "Beaten into Submission" and a live version of "Raped on the Altar" recorded in Germany in 1998. 

This debut is celebrated for its raw intensity and technical precision, laying the groundwork for Dying Fetus's future contributions to the death metal genre.
